This guide explains how to set up a new Windows 11 Pro laptop or desktop for Thrivelayer facilities. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure IT can remotely manage and support the device.

Do NOT connect the device to the internet until instructed. A local account must be created first.
Power on the new device.
When prompted to connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet, choose “I don’t have internet” (or skip).
Create a local account with the following details:
Username: thrivelayer
Password: thrivelayer admin
Security Questions: Use thrivelayer for all answers.
Once the computer is logged into the thrivelayer account, connect the device to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Open Microsoft Edge.
In Edge, go to: helpdesk.thrivelayer.io
Open the support article titled: Setup Unmanaged Windows Device.
Follow the instructions there to download the required software.

Provide the device name and facility location so IT can confirm remote access is working.
